Terms & conditions
A private place for family memories, with clear responsibilities and practical limits.
1. About Heirloom
Heirloom is owned and operated by Recursiv LLC. Heirloom helps adults store family documents, photographs, and recordings, and prepare AI-assisted stories. It is a personal family archive, not a guarantee of permanent preservation or a substitute for your own copies. Contact support@myheirloom.life with account, billing, or content questions.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Provide accurate registration details, protect your password, and contact support@myheirloom.life if you suspect unauthorized access. Each person has a separate account. Family invitations give members access to the same archive, and their changes are attributed to their account. The archive owner manages membership and billing. Anyone with an original shared family password can access that legacy archive. Do not share access with anyone who should not see its contents.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain your rights in the material you upload. You authorize the service and its infrastructure providers to store, process, display, and deliver that material only as needed to operate the features you use. Upload only material you have the right to use. Obtain any required permission from people you record and take care with other people’s private information. Do not upload unlawful content, malware, or material that infringes copyright or privacy rights. Do not bypass access controls or usage limits.
4. AI assistance and accuracy
Document suggestions and story preparation use Cloudflare Workers AI. AI can mishear speech, mistranslate, invent details, or omit information. Check names, dates, and meaning against the original recording or document before relying on or sharing an output. Outputs are not certified translations, verified historical evidence, or professional advice. The original file is retained separately; processing may fail or be unavailable.
5. Availability and keeping your own copies
We aim to keep the service usable, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, successful processing, or indefinite retention. Download and maintain independent copies of important material. Do not use Heirloom as the only place you keep irreplaceable originals. Features and capacity may change; material changes to a paid subscription will be communicated before they apply. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of a planned closure and an opportunity to retrieve files.
6. Plans and charges
Free accounts do not require a payment card. When available, Family costs $6.99 per month or $59 per year; Legacy costs $12.99 per month or $119 per year, in USD. Stripe shows the amount due before you subscribe and processes payment details. One subscription covers one family archive. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the selected interval until canceled. Storage, membership and AI limits shown on the Plans page apply; there are no automatic overage charges. Any applicable taxes shown at checkout are included in the amount you approve.
7. Cancellation, refunds and offers
Use Manage billing & receipts in your archive to cancel before the next renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period; existing files remain accessible subject to account and service restrictions, and new uploads may be blocked if your archive exceeds the Free allowance. Cancellation does not automatically refund past charges. Contact support@myheirloom.life about billing errors or refund requests; any rights to refunds or cancellation under applicable law are preserved. A valid Legacy first-year offer discounts the subscription by 100% for twelve months, subject to its redemption limits and new-customer eligibility. After the offer ends, normal monthly or annual pricing resumes unless canceled. Confirm the discount and renewal terms in Stripe before subscribing.
8. Suspension and ending use
We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, security threats, excessive usage, or legal obligations. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the restriction and provide an opportunity to address it. You may stop using the app and request account and content deletion at support@myheirloom.life. Self-service account deletion is not currently available.
9. Service limitations and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a contractual guarantee of uninterrupted service, error-free AI output, or permanent storage. We do not accept responsibility for business losses from using this personal family service, or losses that could not reasonably have been anticipated when you began using it. This does not exclude responsibility imposed by law, including applicable consumer remedies, liability for fraud or intentional misconduct, or any injury, privacy, security, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms waives rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
10. Changes and questions
Material changes will be described in an updated notice and, where appropriate, communicated in the app or by email. We will seek fresh agreement where required. Send questions, complaints, and content concerns to support@myheirloom.life. Applicable mandatory legal protections continue to apply.
